The article that I am referring to today is not one directly linked with Bionic Woman is the increasing exposure of woman in the media. The article is from the AP (Associated Press) discusses the increasing woman centered TV shows that will be airing this fall. Here is a snippet from the article:
“Maybe it’s coincidence, maybe it’s television’s fondness for a marketable trend, but networks are pushing the gender gap hard next season, airing nearly as many new male or female-focused series as there are shows with a supernatural edge (no link between the two, for now).”
For the rest of the article head over the App.com which has the entire article and it is worth checking out for anyone interesting the upcoming show or just TV in general.

I am always intrigued by articles that dive a bit deeper into the cast of a show, and in this case our friends over at Buddy TV have dived a little deeper into the career of Michelle Ryan. One of the immediate things you hear people say when speaking about the new Bionic Woman is that they are casting a bunch of unknowns, including Michelle Ryan. As the article over at Buddy TV states we may not be overly familiar with her, but the UK sure is. Here is some other info that they bring up.
“Ryan is in fact not only well known for her five-season run on the British Soap EastEnders, she is currently earning her genre street cred with the cutting edge BBC serial Jekyll.
While some are quick to dismiss Ryan’s casting in Bionic Woman as capitalizing on her physical attributes, her history in the arts tells an entirely different story. Beginning in theater at the age of 10, Ryan picked up her role on EastEnders at the age of 15. Her work with accents was astonishing, shifting gears easily to the thick East End accent the role demanded. To hear Ryan speak either of her native accents you would never guess she could nail an American accent as well as she does.”
