Do old Memories Haunt You?
Written by Brenda on February 16th, 2008
One traumatic incident is sufficient to create life long trauma. The memories of this incident continue to re generate stress throughout your life. Women have often had bad memories
of the adolescent age.

In one such case a girl was molested by a family member when she was 10 years old. Now she is married. Yet she has not totally over come the incident. Those ugly memories keep coming back to her. The trauma is so severe that she is not able to enjoy a normal sexual relationship with her husband. She has undergone counseling once but has not come out of it fully.
There is a fair chance that you have a similar story to tell.
The way out is to make yourself mentally tough. Reading books could help. The Wounded Heart by Dan Allender, When Victims Marry by Jan Franks and Changes That Heal by Henry Cloud are some of them. Severe cases need counseling or psychiatric treatment in extreme cases.
