The Original Bionic Woman Weighs In
Written by Brenda on October 15th, 2007
As many of you already know, Bionic Woman is actually a remake of a show that originally aired back in the 70’s and is now taking a new spin on the original. Well the original Bionic Woman (Lindsay Wagner) has recently let the Los Angeles Daily News know what she thinks of the new version. Here is some of what BuddyTV got of that encounter:
“It’s very different,” Lindsay Wagner, who played the first Jamie Sommers back in the mid to late `70s, told the Los Angeles Daily News. “It’s very much like what the shows are today, kind of dark and broody and violent - what people seem to be getting off on these days. So, it’s not at all what we were doing. We were doing a show for kids intentionally and making it fun and make it in such a way that adults could enjoy it, too, with their children.”
Pretty well right on! As on as you can get. And we all enjoyed it immensely, Lindsay. Thank you. Young to old and in between. This new thing is Blade Runner meets Chucky. It’s also the reason why people have switched from television to their computers in hordes, thanks in part to the message of why The Bionic Woman, yours, was so appealing. Technology can be and is the greatest thing we’ve ever had. We are natures own technology.
